Every year, on the 1st of December, the world commemorates World AIDS Day. People around the world unite in support for people living with and affected by HIV and to remember those who lost their lives to AIDS. The inequalities which perpetuate the AIDS pandemic are not inevitable: we can tackle them. This world AIDS day, UNAIDS is urging each of us to address the inequalities which are holding back progress in ending AIDS.

In support of spreading awareness, St Joseph Vaz Institute of Education conducted a rally on the 1 st of December. The teacher trainees marched a route spanning the local area of Cortalim.

Soon after the morning assembly the second-year teacher trainees of D.El.Ed. section and BSc. students along with the teaching and non-teaching staff of St. Joseph Vaz college gathered together and left the institute compound at around 9:15 am. The student body rallied through, 1st Arvalle , crossing the main highways cross junction over to the 2nd Arvalle and partially Thana. We made our way back by the same route ,we reached our institute a little after10am.

Those areas are partly residential and partly business oriented. Being a busy area we gained the attention of local residents of all ages and gender with our slogans of

“एडस दिवस पर खाओ कसम सुरदित बनाए यौन संबंध”.
“कं डोमचा वापर करून एइसला लावा पळवून”.
“एडस सेलडनेके उपाय अपनाओ इस दबमारी को िू र भगाओ”.

They were not only able to hear but also read key information from the banners held up by the students enlightening them about the reality behind AIDS and dispelling the myths.
