A Report on State level workshop- I
On 5th and 6th of Jan 2023, Mahatma Gandhi National Council of Rural Education (MGNCRE), Hyderabad in collaboration with SCERT, Goa conducted the state level workshop on “Vocational Education” in Teacher Education by subject methodology. The D.El.Ed. faculty, of St. Joseph Vaz Institute of Education, Ms Steffi Fernandes attended the workshop. Vocational education might be classified as teaching procedural knowledge. This may be contrasted with declarative knowledge, as used in education in a usually broader scientific field, which might
concentrate on theory and abstract conceptual knowledge. The workshop stated, how teachers can play the central role in preparing young people for work, developing the skills of adults and responding to the labour-market needs of the economy. Teachers and leaders in Vocational Educational Training can have an immediate and positive influence on learners’ skills, employability and career development.
A Report on State level workshop- II
Goa University organised a state level orientation program cum workshop on, “New Dimension of All India Survey on Higher Education”, on 16th March 2023 at conference hall of administrative block of Goa University from 10:00 AM to 5:00 PM. The main aim of, “All India Survey on Higher Education is to identify & capture all the institutions of higher learning in the country”. The D.El.Ed. faculty, of St. Joseph Vaz Institute of Education, Ms Steffi Fernandes attended the workshop. The workshop highlighted that the key aspects of Higher Education which is obtained after completing 12 years of schooling or equivalent is of the duration of at least nine months (full time) or after completing 10 years of schooling & and is of the duration of at least 3 years. The main objective of the survey on higher institutes is to collect the data from all the higher education institutions on various aspects of higher education. The overall workshop was very informative.
