The St. Joseph Vaz Institute of Education, Cortalim – Goa organised a four-day Community Participation Camp for all the first year D. El. Ed. teacher trainees from November 2nd to November 5th, 2024 at Dudhsagar Krishi Udyog (managed by Pilar Fathers), as a mandatory component of the curriculum as prescribed by the S.C.E.R.T. (State Council of Educational Research and Training). The teacher trainees were accompanied by 05 female and 02 male
teacher educators for the duration of the Community Participation Camp. The central objective of the camp was to promote school-community convergence and impart community living skills to the teacher trainees through participation in the community. The students were assigned to groups (Groups A, B, C, D and E) managed by respective teacher educators for the same. The camp concluded with happy memories and learning experiences. After a quick morning breakfast, students along with teachers proceeded towards the Kulem railway station. Together as team the students boarded the Kulem Vasco passenger train. The camp helped the students build companionship and community participation in rural Goa.
