Every year, the Goa Liberation day is celebrated on December 19th in India. The day is celebrated to mark the victory of Indian armed forces to free Goa from 450 years of Portuguese rule.St . Joseph Vaz Institute of education celebrated Goa Liberation Day on 19th December,2023.The program was conducted by F.Y.D.Ei.Ed and S.Y.D.Ei.Ed and the teaching staff of D.Ei.Ed section.The entire assembly was on Goa Liberation Day.The backdrop was made by the Prof.Priya Simoes with the help of the S.Y.D.Ei.Ed teacher trainnes.The Theme of the assembly was “The Pearl of the Orient”.The programme started at 8 clock at morning with welcoming to introduction followed by unfurling of the national flag.Prof. Infancio Correia gudided the cheif guests to host the flag and gave commands to the students. Alan abrea and the headmaster of the school and the principal, maroa fonseca did unfurling of the flag.The prayer service was on " liberated by following Jesus Christ" and Prof.Allan J.Abreo was the musician for the prayer service.Their was a cultural programme like Patriotic Of Goa: A Diorama was performed by F.Y.D.Ei.Ed teacher trainees highlighting different traditionals of goa like " A Podry , Fisherman, fisherwomen Farmer , Photographer,The three religions and the goan Dancers and a speech by a teacher trainee Rekha from S.Y.D.Ei.Ed section followed by a Patriotic speech: Treasures of Goa that was done by our teacher trainees from
D.EI.Ed section . After the performances, prof Maria Fonseca gave a speech on liberation day.At the end the vote of thanks was given by Prof. Allan J. Abreo.
