The Ganesh Chaturthi celebration at St Joseph Vaz Institute of Education was held on 16 th September 2023. The greatness of the culture can be found in its festival.

The notice board showcased the idol of Lord Ganesha and wishes for everyone on the occasion of the festival. There were two offstage competitions conducted for the students of F.Y.D.EL.ED and S.Y.D.EL.ED which were organized by the organizers of the event who were students of the first year under the guidance of sir Ratish Gaonkar, the lecturer of St. Joseph Vaz Institute of Education, Cortalim. The competitions were namely Rangoli and thumb painting poster which were conducted in the college campus followed by the cultural program in the church hall at 12:00PM.

The program began with welcoming and greeting by Rev. Fr. Simao Diniz , the administrator of St. Joseph Vaz college, Cortalim and Dr. Allan Abreo, the coordinator of St. Joseph Vaz Institute of Education, Cortalim. This was further followed by a prayer service on the theme Ganesh Chaturthi. A prayer dance was performed by the students of F.Y.D.EL.ED followed by the lighting of the lamp. The lamp was lit by Rev. Fr. Simao Diniz, Dr. Allan Abreo, Ma’am Ruchira Hegde, Sir Ratish Gaonkar, Sir Infancio Corriea and the two class representatives, Miss Renosha Costa (S.Y) & Miss Casilda Gomes (F.Y). Further an inspirational speech was given by the administrator of the college, Rev. Prof. Simao Diniz. Later wonderful skits were performed by the students of the first year and second year D.El.Ed. Finally, the results of the two competitions were to be declared. The judges for the competitions were Ma’am Steffi Fernandes, Ma’am Jolene Fernandes and Ma’am Priya Simoes. The first prize for Rangoli and Poster competition was won by Suniti, Myola, Renosha, Savio, Aziza, Mercy, Larrisa, Eliza and Jerissa. The second prize for Rangoli was won by Vishaka, Seniz, Pushpa, Zenia, Aisha, Steffany, Jessilia, Jessney and Felita. The second prize for poster competion was won by Prachi, Sr. Ramila, Francy, Myola, Rekha, Jerusha, Selvy, Fancira Melcy and Ashtrida. Last but not the least the audience was addressed with a vote of thanks by Dr. Allan Abreo.
