As part of D.EL.Ed programme and to promote school-community convergence the teacher trainces attended a residential community participation camp. All the teacher trainees of FY. D.El.Ed were taken at Dudhsagar Krishe Udyog (managed by Pilar fathers), kulem from 15th to 19th November, 2022.

The teacher trainees were accompanied by 03 female and 02 male teacher educators. Provision for separate accommodation for male and female teacher trainees was made.

All the teacher trainees we told to report at Margao Railway Station at 1:30 am on 15 that November The Main arrived on the station at 8:12 on platform number 6. The train Stopped for 3 minutes by then everyone was settled inside. We had a lot of fun throughout the journey.

We reached the Kulem railway station at 9:00 am. At the station a small rickshaw cum pickup came to collect our luggage. We all stuffed our luggage in the pickup which we addressed as open Mercedes. He then dropped the luggage and came to collect the trainees.

By 9:45 all the trainees reached their destination that is the Dudhsagar Krishi Udyog (managed by Pilar Fathers). After reaching our destination we were taken to the domentary and given instructions by Ms Steffi Fernandes .We then got comfortable by wearing our home clothes. Then we had the mid-day break at 10 :45, where we were served Vada pav and soup. Then we had the first competition for the day i.e. ‘dish without fire” at 11:30. Various dishes were prepared sweet and spicy, “Yummy and tasty.

Later on we had lunch at 1:30, we were served fish, curry rice, salad and pickle. Lunch was then followed by the talent show programme, all of them showed their talents. And they were wonderful . then we were served tea at 3:30pm. Thereafter we went out to collect firewood and other material for our wealth out of waste competition We returned back at 5.30.

At 7:00 we had the angelus and rosary followed by dinner at 8:00. Later the day we had the Creative hour at 9:00 that was organised by group 5 . We then went to sleep at 11:00pm.

A new fresh day began. We had our breakfast at 8:00 am and then left for the school visit We were alloted 4 schools and were divided accordingly Different craft activities were taught to the students. Our Lady of piety school, Kulem also served the trainees With juice and banana We reached back to our location at 10:45 am: The pick and drop service was organised by our Lady of Piety School.

After returning back we were served lemon juice at 11:00 am We then practiced for our street play competition that was to be held the next day after practicing we were served lunch at 1:00 Then followed by the wealth out of waste Competition at 2 pm with the material we Collected in nature on day 1. We then had the snake awareness
show at 3:00pm The resource person explained to use about the different types of snakes . Live snakes were bought by them. The teacher trainees were also given Chance to handle the snakes.

After the awareness programme we well served tea Then we went to collect firewood to put at the fireplace. Then we went for bath at 6:00. We had to fill our buckets from the. Fireplace to the Washrooms on the other side. We then had the angelus and the rosary at 7 and followed by dinner at 8. the creative hour for day 2 was organised by group 4. They performed the pachka magic show which was very interesting they also performed various dances and ended the day with a jam session.

On the third day of the camp we said the rosary in the morning at 8: 35 after breakfast as we were going to go the street play in the evening. After rosary we had the shramdam that is cleaning at 9:30. Then we had the mid day break at 11:00 where we were served soup At 11:30 we had the first aid demonstration by Ms. Cinaz Pinto, a sister from GMC. She told us about the various medications to be given at / for first aid. We also performed an act on Various medical situation like nose bleeding, choke throat etc. After the talk we had rehearsal for our street play which was followed by lunch at 2 pm .

At 4:00 we left for our street play in a rickshaw We were taken at kulem market, near Kulem panchayat to perform. there were five groups to present. We were provided with juice by the panchayat. After the performance was done we returned back to our location at 5.30. Then followed by the same routine of bath, angelus and dinner.

On day 13, we had the camp fire that was Organised by group 1 and 2 . We had our coordinator, Dr. Allan Abreo on that day where the camp fire was lit by our principal. There were various programmes, dances, games etc The teachers also performed a dance for the trainees. Sir Allan also sang songs . We winded up the programme at 11 pm.

A new fresh day began, day 4 the last activity day of the camp . We Go began with a breakfast which was then followed by a talk on medicinal plants by Mr. Ratish Gaonkar, (Maths/ Science lecturer of SIVIE, Cortalim). He explained about the benefits of various medicinal plants and their uses some of which he explained are Aloe Vera, Ashoka, turmeric, Ginger etc. After the talk we had the mid-day break, followed by the advertisement competition at 11:30 AM.

Then we had the local games organised by group 2. For the local games we played dog and The bone followed by lunch at 1:30pm. We were given a rest break. At around 3:00 We went for nature walk near the stream. To reach the stream we walked for about 10-15 minutes. We had tea and Vada Pav We also had a competition there to make the longest tower with wet stones. Then we walked back to our domentary. Creative hour for that day was organised by group 3. The teachers also taught us and old fashioned Belgium dance which was tiring but interesting.

Day 5 was the last day of the camp. After breakfast we went cleaning all the area that we used. We also got all our bags packed and got them out in the hall. Before leaving we were served soup. Then we clicked our group picture and left for the railway station at 11:00. The Community camp was really good Everyone enjoyed a lot .
