Book: Represents the Holy Bible. It is a symbol of learning, knowledge and truth. It signifies the role of Education, to lead a child from the darkness of ignorance to the light of knowledge and wisdom.

Mitre and Crozier: The two are on either side of our Patron Saint Joseph Vaz who is the first Saint to be canonised from this tiny and beautiful State of Goa. When Pope Clement XI wanted to make St. Joseph Vaz the Bishop of Sri Lanka, he politely declined the offer. He was a great example of humility and simplicity, which are essential qualities to be a teacher.

Vector of Education: It shows that our teacher trainees are at the heart of our Institute. All the instructions, activities and training are aimed at fostering the personal and academic excellence of each teacher trainee.

Star: Represents each and every teacher trainee studying in the Institute who is trained to shine brightly as stars and to positively impact the lives of students they will teach. The star also denotes excellence, quality and virtues that each student should imbibe.

Motto: The motto of the Institute is ‘Formation for Transformation’. It aims at moulding the teacher trainees into all-round teachers who in turn will transform the hearts and minds of young students, thereby making them into worthy, efficient and productive citizens of our nation.
