On 21st December 2023, St. Joseph Vaz Institute of Education,Cortalim-Goa had organized Christmas Fiesta for the teacher trainess of f.Y and S.Y. D.el.ed, the Christmas celebration began for which there were 2 competitions conducted. The first competition was making of Christmas tree from eco friendly materials and the second one was pop-up card competition. Students were divided into 9 groups, the groups were assigned names which were Christmas related namely reindeers, santa clause, jingle bells,candy canes, stockings, elves, snow flakes,mistletoe,hollies.Each group consisted of 8-9 members, which included students from the first and second D. el. ed class. Both competitions commenced at 11:00 am and concluded at 1:00 pm, granting participants a total duration of 2 hours. Additionally, both competitions were executed simultaneously. The students displayed great
enthusiasm and actively engaged in various discussions, generating creative ideas and fostering teamwork among themselves.
At 2;00 pm everyone were told to assemble in the D.El.Ed class of s.y .During this time, the first-year D.El.Ed students organized a brief assembly highlighting the significance of the Christ child and conveying the true meaning behind it. Subsequently, Professor Allan Abreo, the Coordinator of D.El.Ed, announced the winners of two competitions.
The first place for the both Christmas tree and pop up card competition was won by candy canes . The second place for Christmas tree was won by elves and for pop up card competition it was won by santa clause. Following the announcement of the winners, there was a gift-exchanging event for Christ child, to conclude with the program F.Y.D.El.Ed students performed a Christmas dance.
