The Ganesh Chaturthi celebrations at St. Joseph Vaz Institute of Education was held on 29th August 2022. The greatness of a culture can be found in its festival The notice board showcased the idol of Lord Ganesha and also provided snippets of information on essential elements that form a part of this religious celebration. This included modaks, laddoos, durva, red hibiscus etc.

The assembly included an aarti sung by the D.El.Ed. teacher trainees. This was followed up with a video presentation on the Lord Ganesha on the background story of this religious observance. Dr. Allan Abreo addressed the assembly and narrated the story of ‘Mushak Raj’ and the ‘Race between Lord Ganesha and his brother Karthikya’.

To add to the festivities, a rangoli competition was held- students created different rangoli art put on display for our viewing pleasure. A second competition of miniature Ganesh idol was also conducted. The teacher trainees were instructed to use eco-friendly material. Judges for the same were, Dr. Allan Abreo and Ma’am Priya Simoes.

The programme lasted for an hour, refreshments were provided and the results of the competitions were declared in the community hall later that day.
