Diploma in Elementary Education (D.El.Ed.)
The Diploma in Elementary Education (D.El.Ed.) is a two-year full-time programme with an intake of 50 teacher trainees every year. The medium of instruction is English.
OBJECTIVES OF THE PROGRAMME
The objectives of this programme are as follows:
- To develop knowledge of the theories and methodologies of teaching Institute subjects from Standards I to VII.
- To acquire competence in respective subjects in the curriculum of Elementary Education in the State.
- To practice different methods of teaching in actual classroom situations.
- To develop leadership skills in the trainees.
- To endeavour to bring about a qualitative change in elementary education.
